Chrysler Parts Melbourne : Survival Of The Fittest

When Charles Darwin published his Origin of the Species in 1859, he caused a storm of controversy. But thankfully, 150 years on, most right-thinking people in the world accept that his theory of evolution is true. The beauty of Darwin’s theory (and in this sense theory means something that has been proven to be true, not that it is just an idea, as some claim) is its incredible simplicity. In fact, one of Darwin’s contemporaries and most staunch defenders, Thomas Henry Huxley, said of himself to have been ‘ extremely stupid not to have thought of that’.

The central idea behind Darwin’s work is that the animals that are most suited to survival in any particular situation, will breed with those others that are still alive. The weaker and less adaptable are hunted and killed or die of starvation. This is why certain traits develop in certain animals. The giraffe’s long neck or the cheetah’s immense speed for example. This idea that the fittest survive to carry on the line is indeed very simple and efficient.

But does the idea only work in the animal kingdom? What about when it comes to machines and other objects. You could easily apply the ideas to the market place. Some toys or gadgets that don’t work or don’t sell are discontinued, but the ones that are popular continue to develop to their strengths.

In the automobile market, cars like Jeep Melbourne, Dodge and Chrysle r Melbourne  thrive even after decades. Other brands without the levels of quality expected wither and die. And so it is that SUV vehicles in Melbourne have come to be. From the initial 4WD manufactured by Jeep (who else?) back in 1941, the modern idea of the SUV has developed. People have always had the need for large, spacious and powerful cars. Cars that they can rely on when the going gets tough. Cars that can handle it off-road but are also comfortable and can carry lots of gear and passengers. These strengths were not ready made. They have evolved as needs have been identified. And even though others have tried to emulate their success, it is only the fittest that survive. That’s why you can still buy a Jeep SUV vehicle today.

Charles Darwin died before the age of the motorcar but it would have been interesting to see what he thought of how his theory applied to the world of cars. But one thing is for sure, on all his expeditions around the world collecting samples, you can bet he would have used an SUV on his journey.
